Oil presses at La Seña (Villar del Arzobispo, Valencia)

Tarima prensas
These two pressing stones found in La Senya could be associated to the production of oil during the Iberian period. The press stone has incised channels to facilitate oil decanting and notches for its attachment. Olive production must have been concentrated to certain villages, since in the nearby Castellet de Bernabé (Lliria, Valencia), settling ponds associated with olive charred bones have been found.
